In a world where everyone is fighting for relevance in search engines and online presence, it’s getting harder to create content that captivates people in general.
Social media is full of basically everything, it’s almost impossible at this point to be the first one to do something, so our creativity needs to be at it’s best but also we can’t forget that what makes people keep reading or seeing is the conjugation between text, image, and video.
In marketing, there are a lot of techniques that you can use to improve your company and get to the next level, but not all of them will work, and normally takes some time, investment and testing to get/see the results.
So first of all, you need to know what direction you are taking your business, what’s your final goal or your dream.
After you set a goal, you can start working on that.
Step 1 – Audience and platforms
Define the public you want for your product/service.
This is very important because you need to know if your product/service is for children, woman, man or it’s just something that anyone would use, acquire or need.
After that, you need to think about what location are your clients.
Do you want clients in your region/country or do want to go worldwide? That’s the question you need to make to yourself.
For example: If you have a company that repairs cell phones, probably it won’t make sense to go worldwide since normally people prefer to leave the equipment in a place close to them.
There are a lot of social media platforms, select the right ones to work with.
You can search for top social media platforms on Google, and check the best ones. It’s important to know more than just Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
To choose the right platform where you want to communicate with your audience you first need to know them a little, this way you will not waste resources communicating in the wrong place.
For example, if your business is parties for kids you probably won’t get many leads on Linkedin, perhaps it’ll be a better choice to create a Facebook page and share on parents groups or with Pinterest where you can share pictures and ideas for themed parties linking to your website or blog.
So you can make an account in every platform or you can focus on just 1 or 2 at the beginning and see how it goes.
Extra tip: You can advertise on almost every social network, and target your audience by age, location, interests and a lot more.
Step 2 – Competitors
To be succeeded you need to know your market, and for that, you need to see what are your competitors doing.
You may think that you don’t need to see what they’re doing because you know exactly how to do it. Well, that’s great! But anyway you don’t lose anything if you just check it.
You’ll be able to analyze what’s working or not for them, and do it better for yourself.
Make a little research and you’ll see it’s worthy.
Extra tip: Use social networks to find your competitors, and check on search engines with the keywords you think your business should be ranking with.
For example, if you’re a bakery look for, bread, cakes, wedding cakes and see on Google maps what is near to you.
Step 3 – Content & Infographics
When you start creating content make sure you’re being authentic, you can always take ideas from other people but give your little touch at the end.
Create value to your public, give them so they will give you back, a brand that creates value and cares about their customers is more impactful than a brand which only cares for sales and sees their clients like numbers.
Don’t forget that your brand is your own story! Who doesn’t like a good story behind a product?
It has another impact on life when you acquire something with a meaning behind.
Make contact with the public
When you create an image or content you can always write like you’re talking with someone, that creates empathy with the reader.
When you post it at social media if you say something like “What do you think about this?” or even use Emojis to ask for their reaction like “? or ?, ✅ or ❌” you’ll be getting more engagement because emojis express what you can’t put on words. It’s different to see something like “oh yeah” that you can’t really feel the emotion from “oh yeah ???” where you clearly feel the hype.
Step 4 – Google
One of the most powerful tools for digital marketing is Google!
At the end of the day when you’re looking for something you normally Google it!
So it’s important that when someone searches for a service or product that you have, that your page/social media appears at the first page of research.
To do that there only a few rules:
- Use Google Ads to research relevant keywords
- Your site should be HTTPS because is safer, and that gives you a better rank
- Speed your website loading time that gives better punctuation if it’s fast. You can also check the speed at https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
- Make your own Smart Campaign, this is one of the best tools Google gives you, it’s automatic and gives the best results, all you have to do is monitor the development.
Step 5 – Measure results
This is a process, so you’ll have to try different techniques and check what it works for you and what doesn’t.
So at the end it’s important to study the results of every post, image, content that you created and see what gets more attention, what gives you more visibility and more important if you could get clients from that, because it’s not all about likes and shares the important part is making profit of all of that.
If you can’t get profit probably your content it’s not getting to the right clients, so you have to check your audience and try it in a different way until you get to your goal!
Don’t forget that Rome was not built in one day, so don’t give up!
The results will not appear in one week, this is not magic and involves a lot of effort and dedication!
But when you get there you’ll see it’s not that hard, you just need to understand what works for you and your business!
2019 is the year, make it happen! ?✍?????
